Here is a little lecture why it's called Tokyo...
Tokyo (東京) literally means [Eastern Capital] while Kyoto(京都)means [Capital of capital].
So they both mean [Capital].
Last week I attended an on-the-job training for guiding in Tokyo.
Because I want to work more extensively in the future.. and Tokyo is the Must for travellers to Japan.
So I thought I should know how to guide in Tokyo.
Last Friday, I took a night bus to Tokyo and arrived there early morning.
This is, i think the 5th time to come to Tokyo.. however every time i 'm in Tokyo, I can't help but being amazed at the very very confusing train transportation system.
There are more than 60 lines in the metropolitan area( which is Tokyo and surrounding area).
There were often times where I have to change trains a couple of times to get to the place just 15 min away. You can't really afford to enjoy viewing the cityscape of Tokyo while on train because you just keep focused on where to get off and in which direction you should walk for connection. I'm sure if you can manage to use the transportation system here, you will have no problem with subway system in anywhere else.
1 day pass for the metro subway is only 710 yen, so you could get a great advantage of it if you tour around here.
The most impressive place in my visit to Tokyo was Tsukiji Fish Market..
Lots of good-looking food stands and restaurants at reasonable price!!!
,, and lots of them are family-run.. It's quite noteworthy to find such a place in the middle of the metropolitan area.
It's a shame the battery of my camera went out just before trying to take a picture.
Definitely I will have meals there next time I visit Tsukiji..
